ACTIVITIES TO INTEREST AND ENTERTAIN RESIDENTS
Laverock House is part of the National Association for Providers of Activities for older People (NAPA) which supports the enablement:
“of older people to live life the way they choose with meaning and purpose."
Our Care Home benefits from a full time Activities Organiser who is trained and committed to a person-centered approach in the provision of activities. Meaningful, flexible, individual and group activities are offered.
We have a qualified Art Therapist who encourages residents to take part in a weekly open art group. We also have an Extend trained therapist who offers a weekly Music & Movement class.
Links are maintained with with the local community by for example monthly religious services, with a local Minister (for those who wish to attend) and regular visits of a group from a local after school club and links with a local Brownie Pack.
A dedicated resident's computer is available with internet use. SKYPE is supported and enjoyed by residents, friends and family as a way of staying in touch.
Trips to places of interest and hobbies are maintained where possible. Family and friends are encouraged to join social events and activities.
